Warmer Weather Hair Care.
This morning was one amazing morning let me tell ya. I woke up to a chill morning, went to the backyard & got as much morning sun as I could. Enjoyed my coffee & my refreshed new backyard after some good yard work yesterday, gave my chickens treats, & played fetch with my dog Koda. Then hopped in my car with the windows & sunroof down & got a massage.
It was wonderful… til I got home & realized my hair was an ABSOLUTE mess…
Okay, okay, okay not really a big ole mess, nothing I can’t handle, but it needed a little TLC before I sat down to write this… which is where I got this inspiration!
Warmer weather can do a bit of a shock to your hair.
More sun = more heat & UV damage.
Going on road trips with the windows down = tangles.
Swimming in pools or oceans = minerals deposit into your hair
We could do this all day.
So, ways I get ready to combat this, & protect my investment of hair extensions, every morning I use Davines Oi Oil. If I know I will be in the sun I add a few spritzes of Incommon’s Magical Elixer. So this morning seeing the weather I knew I needed both, brushed those through, put my hair in a loose pony, & drove to my massage.
Then, immediately when I came home & saw my crazy windblown, oily hair.. I gently brushed my hair up from the ends up to the roots. After which I applied a little more Oi Oil to my extensions, sprayed on Davines Dry Shampoo to absorb the oils & felt so much better.
The trick to Warmer Hair Care isn’t by not jumping in the pool, or never driving with the windows down… where’s the fun in that?
The trick is, have a great leave-in hair care, & if you have extensions keep your hair moisturized with a good hair oil.
(Also, if you have extensions stay away from any Sunscreen that contains “avobenzine” & “octocrylene” they will ruin your extensions past the point of return. More on that another day.)
